Baseball is a sport where the ball comes at you fast, but one that you don’t have to worry too much about dangerous injuries.

While it does happen sometimes, like Tommy John-inducing ailments, they wouldn’t necessarily be considered dangerous. That is except when you see your life flash before your eyes with a screaming liner coming right at your head.

Billy Ripken, Cal Ripken Jr’s younger brother who played 12 years in the majors, found that out recently while doing a demonstration in studio.

We’re not sure if he had any liability for line drives included in his broadcasting contract, but he took a full force liner to the face from fellow analyst Sean Casey.

Billy took it like a champ and even tossed a few more and almost got hit again. Screaming line drives can do a lot of damage if they hit a pitcher the wrong way, just ask JA Happ or Matt Showmaker.
